UPDATE: Suspect arrested in overnight gas station robbery

UPDATE (9:25 a.m.) – More details are being released about a robbery at a gas station south of Lansing Wednesday night.

Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth tells 6 News that the suspect entered the Speedway gas station just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say the man took a cash box and got into a semi-truck pulling a trailer.

The truck and trailer were found about 20 minutes later eastbound on I-96 near Dietz Road and Webberville.

Police arrested the suspect, a 50-year-old Southfield man, and the cashbox was recovered.

He is expected to be arraigned Friday afternoon.

INGHAM COUNTY, Mich (WLNS) – Ingham County sheriff’s deputies have a man in custody after an overnight robbery.

He’s accused of robbing the Speedway gas station south of Lansing on Eaton Rapids Road just south of I-96.

Investigators have not released many details but we do know there were no injuries and the suspect did take cash from the business.
