Lansing City Council fails to elect Council President for third time

LANSING, Mich. – For the third time, Lansing City Council has failed to elect a new president and vice president.

The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday with the goal of filling those positions.

The president is in charge of appointing members to various committees.

The eight council members will meet again on Monday, and have discussed bringing in a mediator to help resolve the issue.
