UPDATE: Maple Valley Schools to reopen, threat over

UPDATE 1:02 p.m. – A threat to the Maple Valley Schools has been investigated and now officials say all school activities will resume at 3:00 p.m.

A threat of violence was made against the District on social media Sunday. After contacting police school district officials decided to close schools today. The person believed to have originated the threat has been identified and the threat has been contained.

EATON COUNTY, Mich. (WLNS) – Maple Valley Schools will be closed Monday for what the district is calling administrative reasons.

In an alert on the school’s website, the district says the closure will require authorities to investigate what is being called a “developing safety-related issue.”
