JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – Downtown Jackson could have a very different look 36 months.
That’s what Jackson Mayor Bill Jors is saying after the city reached an option agreement with a company to develop land in downtown.
Engineering firm Commonwealth Associates has a plan to build a new headquarters on two parcels on land.
The project would develop a lot adjacent to the new “Lofts on Louis” site that is already being built with the second lot across the street.
The headquarters will bring 150 jobs into downtown Jackson.
Two years ago city officials decided to have a block of old parking lots removed and offer the land to developers.
With the Lofts on Louis development, a new parking lot, another planned office building and the Commonwealth Associates headquarters, the entire block bordered by Pearl, Jackson, Louis Glick and Blackstone streets is now committed for new developments.
