Pinning ceremony honors Vietnam veterans

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Even though Thanksgiving has come and gone it’s always appropriate to show gratitude toward the men and woman who sacrificed their lives fighting for our country.

And that’s what three state lawmakers did today.

Outside the state Capitol building Senator Rick Jones was one of three lawmakers to host a Vietnam veteran commemorative lapel pinning ceremony.

One veteran honored today told us why the ceremony made him so emotional.

“That was emotional being finally recognized as a vietnam veteran and not being shut down by our country when we did come home before,” said Vietnam veteran Clyde West.

The ceremony was one of many to honor the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam war.
