Consumers Energy assists in heating things up while weather starts cooling down in Winter

(WLNS) – Winter is on the way and Consumers Energy along with United Way are making sure homes are heated through the winter months.

The Consumers Affordable resource for Energy or CARE program, offers customers challenged to pay bills assistance with past-due balances and help with energy improvements in their home.

Customers who apply must have an income equal or less than 150% of Federal Poverty Level guidelines and have a Consumers Energy account past due and an outstanding balance less than $2,000.

20 Counties across the state are offering the assistance, hoping it helps keep families warm through Michigan’s winter season.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
