Stubborn condo fire makes for long night in East Lansing

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – East Lansing fire fighters spent hours this morning trying to put out a stubborn condo fire.

6 News reporter Mariah Harrison was on the scene and spoke to the woman living inside that condo.

She says the woman called “9-1-1” around 3:00 this morning saying a light bulb popped on the second floor and started a small fire.

Fire fighters arrived to the 1800 block of Burrwood Circle and put it out.

They told her the fire was out and left.

Because of the damage the woman says she went to spend the night someplace else.

Three hours later at around 6:00 a.m. neighbors called 9-1-1 because flames were inside her home once again.

But this time there was a lot of damage.

6 News has also learned two other condos needed to be evacuated.

Right now three people have been displaced.

No one was hurt.

This story continues to develop and will be updated online and on 6 News.
