COLUMBUS, OH (WLNS) – There’s a big football game looming for Wolverine fans across the state.
U of M will be facing off against their Buckeye rivals in Columbus, Ohio tomorrow.
Michigan and Ohio State are just about 12 hours from kicking off inside Ohio Stadium and this game is significant every year.
But especially for Michigan’s senior captains Jake Butt and Chris Wormley, who are both Ohio natives.
They each remember watching “The Game” as youngsters long before either knew they would become Wolverines.
“At that time who was a Michigan fan and there’s, we were all huddled around one tv and there was probably 60 or 70 people that were just kind of locked into that game you know the whole entire game, I don’t even really remember anybody eating it was such a back and forth game everyone was you know locked in so I’m sure it will be pretty similar for a lot of people.”
“Half my friends were Michigan fans, half my friends were Ohio State fans, so growing up and going to their houses and watching the game with family members,” said Chris Wormley, Michigan defensive lineman. “And things like that it was always a friendly rivalry and talking back and forth the trash talk and things like that but now it’s for real, now its business.”
Both teams will be getting down to it tomorrow when toe meets leather at noon.
