Book store raises prices for good causes, “We Care Friday”

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – While most places are dropping their prices a local bookstore is raising theirs.

The “Everybody Reads” bookstore in Lansing raised their prices by 10 percent today to help raise money for the Garden Project at the Greater Lansing Food Bank.

The raised price is optional for customers but for those who do decide to pay it the store will match that by 10 percent.

But the giving doesn’t stop there.

The store will also tack on an extra 5 percent donation for the Food Bank as well.

Store manager Diane Krantz explains the effort is back because of popular demand. “So many people in the last few weeks have been really excited about us doing this again. We call it “We Care Friday”. So, we still care, a lot of people still care.”

The book store will be open until 5:00 p.m. tonight.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
