Runners hit streets before table at Lansing Turkey Trot

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Thousands of people pounded the pavement this morning at the 16th Annual Lansing Turkey Trot.

Runners, joggers, and walkers all took part in this year’s trot around the Capitol City.

For some it was a great way to burn off some calories before their big meal while others enjoyed time with family and friends.

“It raises money for a great cause um gives a lot of people a chance to get out here with their families and bring the kids out and everything,” explained runner James Kurski. “So I plan on eating a big Thanksgiving dinner so I’ve got to burn off the calories somehow.”

This year more than 4700 people took part in this years race to race money for the Michigan Running Foundation.
