IONIA, Mich. – Those who have a standing bench warrant for a minor court case in Ionia District Court are being offered amnesty through the end of the year.

The 64-A District Court in Ionia County is offering amnesty for bench warrants such as failure to pay fines and costs, failure to appear, or failure to comply with a court order.  Those who owe money will be put on a new schedule, and those who missed court dates will be given new ones.

Those interested in amnesty must turn themselves in at the court.  Their warrants will be cancelled and they will be free to leave.

This offer only applies to Ionia District Court.  Warrants from other courts cannot be cancelled, and anyone who shows up with such a warrant may be arrested.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
