LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and other city leaders, will announce a new proposed ordinance today to improve the regulation of medical marijuana.

The Mayor hopes to make growing operations safer.

This would involve regulations to reduce fire hazards associated with growing plants indoors, such as over-loaded electrical circuits.

It would also allow the city to address quality-of-life issues and neighborhood nuisances caused by home growing operations.

More details will be available after a press conference at noon.
