New Costco retail store to be built at location of former East Lansing golf course

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Public hearings will be set tonight as developers plan to bring a new Costco retail store to the location of a former East Lansing golf course.

The East Lansing City Council is set to approve three public hearings for December 6th.

The first would rezone the northern 26 acres of the golf club as a retail sales business district for the Costco, and the southern 38 acres as a restricted office business district which could be used a permanent conservation easement.

The second public hearing will review Costco’s site plan, while the third will cover the brownfield plan.

Those hearings should take place on December 6th.
