Victims of Detroit doctor found guilty of fraud eligible for compensation

DETROIT, Mich. – Victims of Doctor Farid Fata are eligible to file for financial compensation this week.

Detroit-based Farid Fata pleaded guilty to fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy and is now serving a 45-year prison sentence.

Farid’s was sentenced in 2014, but the Federal government has recently seized over $12 million from his assets to compensate victims.

Anyone who was a patient of Fata between 2005 and 2013 has until November 14 to file a claim for out-of-pocket expenses like co-payments and deductibles.  Families of patients who died can file for partial funeral expenses.

Former patients can visit or call toll-free at 877-202-3282 to file a claim.
