HOLT, MI (WLNS) – Dozens of people gather to mourn the tragic loss of a little girl whose life was taken too soon.

“It’s shocking, it’s sad to see so much grief in such a happy community,” Tina Walton said. “To see a tragic little life taken so soon; I didn’t know the little girl personally, but you can’t help but cry.”

Kids and adults with heavy hearts, holding candles outside the place the little girl once called home; Many leaning on each other for support.

“Old Orchard is a big community here,” Walton said. “We all love each other very much so we all wanted to come out and support her and let her know on behalf of management especially. We’re very saddened.”

A symbol of sorrow lies by the window.

“By the window where they brought the little girl out,” Walton said. “Someone has laid a pink artificial rose with a big yellow ribbon. That’s the community for ya. Someone just silently wanted to say we’re sorry for your loss and just a little memento, outpouring of love.”

Tina Walton lives at the Old Orchard Apartment Complex. She hopes the love and support from the community, helps the family and friends during this difficult time

“I’m so sorry and to let her know that as a community at Old Orchard, we’re all here for her,” Walton said. “Anything she needs; Support, whatever, we’re here for her.”
