City issues warning after pills end up in Halloween goody bags

Police are sending out a warning to kids and parents who went trick-or-treating in St. Johns on Halloween.

They say that a group handing out first aid kits in a red nylon bag contained a sample of ibuprofen.

The group handed out the bags between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Police want parents to check their kids’ candy and make sure the medicine doesn’t get mixed in. They also say parents can turn the kit in or throw it away.

They say the group that handed out the pills is sorry about what happened
