LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – A gruesome scene unfolds in Lansing when police find three people shot and killed.
And now, many questions are unanswered.
What started as a welfare check resulted in a double murder-suicide investigation.
Lansing Police found three people, all in their twenties, dead with apparent gun shot wounds inside a southeast Lansing home.
Investigators say it all started just after 1:00 this morning when officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Truman Circle which is about half a mile away from the University Club in Lansing.
Family and friends are mourning tonight after waking up to gun shots.
This morning Lansing Police confirmed that both Latoya Tate and Xazier Dean were the victims in this double homicide-suicide.
28-year old Marcus Osby is accused of shooting them and then turning the gun on himself.
However, community members say this is very unusual for this family-friendly neighborhood.
One neighbor told 6 News that she had known Latoya and her three kids for several years.
Osby is the father of two of them.
None of the kids were at home when the shooting happened.
Both the medical examiner and crime scene unit were at the house today.
This morning Lansing Police Chief Mike Yankowski held a news conference, saying he believes this incident was a case of domestic violence.
And that’s why they’re looking for your help.
