LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – The latest EPIC-MRA poll is out as the race for the White House heads into the final two weeks.
In Michigan Hillary Clinton is showing strength but Donald Trump is flexing his muscles in areas of the state.
Mid-Michigan is voting for Mr. Trump, who has a 17-point lead.
In west Michigan, traditionally strong Republican territory, he is winning but only by three points.
It’s Mr. Trump dominating northern Michigan by 17 points but in vote-rich southeast Michigan Ms. Clinton holds a 24-point lead.
Mr. Trump wins Macomb County but she wins Oakland and Wayne.
The gender gap has been narrowed.
Ms. Clinton has lost support among middle-aged women but still holds a 15-point lead, although that is down 5 points.
She had a lead with men, but Mr. Trump has bounced back but has only a 3 point lead with those voters.
ON the education front Mr. Trump’s strong base of less-educated voters has slipped away.
Ms. Clinton has a 9-point lead with them and a 9-point lead with college educated voters.
On the issues, when you look at the voters who feel jobs is the most important issue, she beats him by 13 points, 47 percent to 34 percent.
On wages she wins with a 54 percent to 12 percent margin.
But on trade Mr. Trump beats her by a 49 percent to 31 percent margin.
And on national security he also has an advantage of 45 percent to 35 percent over Ms. Clinton.
Mr. Trump once had a commanding lead with independent voters but he is now tied.
65 percent of the voters supporting Ms. Clinton say they are doing it because they back her while 30 percent say they are voting against Mr. Trump.
44 percent of Mr. Trump’s supporters are voting for him but 43 percent support him because they don’t like her.
