The Michigan voters who answered a WLNS-TV poll say they have a pretty good idea why they’re backing the candidate of their choice.

- Qualified (6%)
The top reasons they say they’re voting against Trump is:
- Not qualified (8%)
- Voting against him (6%)
- There’s a four-way tie for third place (4% each)
Meanwhile, Trump supporters are more driven by their hatred of Hillary. They’re almost evenly split over whether they’re voting for Trump (44%) or against Clinton (43%). Ten percent of Trump voters said “both”.
The top three reasons Trump supporters say the back him is because:
- Change (9%)
- Not a politician/Business background (8%)
- Honest/blunt (7%)
And almost a third of Trump voters (32%) also say they’re voting for him because they consider Clinton a “liar, crook, or criminal”.
The poll, conducted by the Lansing firm EPIC MRA, includes the opinions of 600 people. The questions went out between October 22nd and 24th and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4%. The margins may be higher for sub-groups of voters.
