Emergency crews rescued two men who were trapped in a Jackson County grain elevator on Wednesday afternoon.
The two men were said to be up to their waists in corn at a grain tower at 2555 Callahan Rd., in Parma Township. That’s about 15 miles west of Jackson.
It’s between Albion and Parma – and while it’s a little closer to Parma, the site has an Albion mailing address.
Crews got the call around 1 p.m. and rushed to the scene. It took them about two hours to get the men out.
A rescuer tells 6 News the men were surrounded by a chute and firefighters removed the corn around them. The men were able to climb a ladder to get out of the elevator.
They were taken to a local hospital to get checked out.
