Panel discussion on criminal justice, African-American community planned in Jackson

(WLNS) — Jackson Police are teaming up with Jackson College to hold an open meeting Thursday evening to discuss the relationship between the African-American community and the criminal justice system.

The agenda will be broken up into 2 panels, one filled with selected community members, and the other with members of law enforcement and community leadership.

University of Michigan professor Dr. Betty Overton, and Ann Arbor police office Jason Gold will serve as moderators.

The public is welcome to attend.

The meeting starts at 6:30pm at the St. John’s United Church of Christ, 801 S. Mechanic St.
