LANSING, Mich. – A group of Cooley Law School students will host a conference to raise public awareness of the opiate epidemic in Mid-Michigan on Thursday.

The conference starts at noon on October 19, and is free to anyone interested.

A variety of people will speak on the issue, including a leader of the Ingham County Chapter of Families Against Narcotics who lost his son to an overdose five years ago.

In addition to addiction, the conference will also explore the legalities in court and health care systems.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
