Stranger Danger classes pay off in Fowlerville

FOWLERVILLE, Mich (WLNS) – All the hours devoted to talking to young children about Stranger Danger paid off in a big way today in Fowlerville.

According to the Fowlerville Police Department’s Facebook page they were made aware of a incident this morning at the Grandshire Trailer Park while a 10-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop.

Police say a man driving a small, blue car approached the young girl and asked her if she needed a ride.

The girl ran to a relative’s house who live nearby and she is safe.

Police are searching for the driver of the car.

Stranger Danger classes have been taught to all the students in the Fowlerville School District’s K-5 classes this fall.

Police remind parents to talk to their children about the importance of not speaking to people they don’t know.
