LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Having to spend time in the hospital can be difficult for anyone and it can be especially hard on children and their families.
But, thanks to the costume store “Spirit Halloween”, patients at the Sparrow Children’s Center in Lansing got a fun surprise today.
Costumes, crafts and, of course, candy, were handed-out to the children as part of the party.
It might seem like simple fun but for these children who are in the hospital a party like this can really make a difference.
“I feel like this is helping her because she’s been just laying in bed because she wants to go home and be with her sisters and brothers. I think this brought up her spirit by her dressing up like Cinderella and enjoying her time,” said Trisha Castilla.
“It makes the hospital less scary for them and takes them away from everything for just even for a few minutes. It makes them smile and just being able to be kids,” adds Kristina Mattone from “Spirit Halloween”.
“Spirit Halloween” has donated about $140,000 to Sparrow Hospital since 2007.
