Woman, dog killed when struck by car in Eaton Rapids

EATON RAPIDS, Mich (WLNS) – Eaton County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the death of a 61-year old woman and her dog who were both hit by a car last night in Eaton Rapids.

According to Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich 61-year-old Violet Copeland was hit while walking along South Main Street near Elizabeth Street just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

That’s on the south side of Eaton Rapids.

The Eaton Rapids Police Department were first to the crash and called in the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office to assist.

The driver of the car is a 44-year-old male. His identity has not been released.

This crash is still being investigated and the story will be updated online and on 6 News.
