GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WLNS) – The ArtPrize winners have been announced.

James Millick from Milford Center, Ohio won the $200,000 public prize with his piece “Wounded Warrior Dogs” on display at the Amway Hotel.

The art work featured six wounded and rehabilitated dogs carved from wood.

The artist said the wooden dogs are symbols for the sacrifice of the real war-time dogs.

Ten different entries won nearly a $500,000 in prizes.
