UPDATE: Cat hoarding mother and daughter to pay $60K, get probation

Dozens of cats were removed from a home along Groesbeck and Autumn Lane in Lansing Wednesday, June 10, 2015.

(WLNS) – A Lansing Township mother and daughter have been ordered to pay thousands of dollars in connection with a cat hoarding case that began last year.

Last week 68-year-old Lannie Price and 33-year-old Amanda Price were sentenced to pay $62,000 in restitution.

The mother was also sentenced to 5 years probation and one year in jail. The jail sentence was suspended.

Daughter Amanda Price also received to one year probation and a one year jail sentence which was also suspended.

The court also ordered that the two get mental health assessments and they are to avoid owning pets.

The women pleaded no contest to misdeameanor and felony animal cruelty charges.

Last June 126 cats were removed from the Groesbeck area house they rented. At the time about 100 cats were alive but 80 of those had to be euthanized.
