Sen. Bernie Sanders pitches free college in Clinton campaign stop at MSU

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders held a rally for Hillary Clinton on the campus of Michigan State University this afternoon.

Sanders actually won the primary here in Michigan but ultimately dropped out of the two-way race against Clinton.

6 News got a one-on-one interview with Sanders and asked him what he thinks Hillary Clinton needs to do to win Michigan.

“Ask the people of Michigan if we should raise the wage of minimum wage to a living wage. They do. Ask the people of Michigan if we need pay equity for women. They do. Ask the people of Michigan if they think that we should make public college and universities free for the middle class so that their kids can go to college and not leave deeply in debt. They do. Those are Clinton’s positions,” said Sen. Sanders.

State Republicans knocked the senator’s visit today.

They say Sanders lost the Democratic nomination because they claim the system was rigged against him.
