UPDATE: 71-year-old Lansing man shot in south side attack

UPDATE 3:40 p.m. – Two suspects are being held today in connection with a shooting this afternoon.

The suspects, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old man, were arrested soon after the 12:35 p.m. shooting.

A 71-year-old man was shot while in his front yard on the 4700 block of Christiansen Road.

According to police the man and his son had an ongoing dispute with the suspects.

Witnesses say the suspects drove by and shot the victim once. He was hit in the lower back.

Police were given a description of the car and located it soon after in the 1400 block of Redwood.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned as soon as Friday.

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – One man is being treated after being shot this afternoon on Lansing’s south side.

Police officers responded to the 4700 block of Christiansen Road just after 12:40 p.m.

Investigators say the victim was shot in a leg and was taken to a local hospital.

They say the gunman left the scene and was last seen driving south on Christiansen in a grey Chevy Impala.

Police tell 6 News the victim knows the gunman and this was not a random shooting.
