Jackson man arrested for September shooting; is also suspect in school bus attack

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – An 18-year-old Jackson man is under arrest today in connection with the shooting of another teen September 1.

Jackson Police made the arrest Tuesday afternoon during a traffic stop on US-127 North near the Parnall Road exit.

Tyrel Stewart was wanted for the shooting of a 15-year-old boy in the area of Merriman Street and Stevens Street.

Stewart was arraigned today and is being held on $750,000 bond.

Investigators say the Stewart is also a suspect in the shooting of a 17-year-old man while the victim was boarding a bus outside the T.A. Wilson Academy in Jackson.

That shooting is still being investigated and no charges have been filed.
