Crime Stoppers: 2 attempts to identify, 1 wanted for felony

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Crime Stoppers of mid-Michigan is asking for the public’s assistance on two investigations and to find one person wanted for a felony. They are pictured clockwise from upper left.

Attempt to identify:

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in identifying the subject in the photo. This suspect has passed at least seven counterfeit checks in Lansing, Jackson, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 30 to 35 years of age, bald or very short hair, a short goatee and wearing glasses. Anyone who can identify this subject should
contact Crime Stoppers at (517) 483-STOP.

On the evening of September 13 officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of West Saginaw Street in Lansing Township for a stolen vehicle. A witness stated that they were sitting in their vehicle when they were approached by a male subject wearing a white hoodie. The male got into their vehicle and then demanded that the witness get out. The male then drove away. The vehicle, a 2008 Kia Rondo, has not yet been recovered. Anyone that sees this vehicle or can identify the accused should contact Crime Stoppers at (517) 483-STOP.


William John Moritz has a felony warrant for embezzlement out of Lansing. Moritz is a white male, 33, 5’8″ and weighs 169 pounds. he has brown hair and brown eyes.
