Driver flees burning car, one woman injured


UPDATE 9:56 a.m. – According to Lansing police, the driver of the vehicle has been located. 6 News has learned that a man showed up to a local hospital with minor injuries and admitted to being involved in the early morning crash. Charges are pending. Stay with 6 News for updates.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A car was burnt to a shell on Lansing’s south side.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Atwood Drive.

Police say they believe a driver was driving at a high rate of speed hit a parked car then caught fire.

The driver took off before authorities got on scene the 18-year-old woman in the passenger seat was taken to the hospital..

She’s in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
