UPDATE: Boil order issued for north side of Grand Ledge

UPDATE 4:00 p.m. – Water testing is being done by the city of Grand Ledge and those test results are expected to be available Saturday, September 24. If the tests indicate that the water is safe to drink the water boil order will be lifted.

GRAND LEDGE, Mich (WLNS) – City officials in Grand Ledge have issued a “boil water” order for people living on the north side of the city.

6 News has learned that a broken water main has impacted water pressure and triggered the boil order.

Repairs are being made on the broken pipe but city officials tell 6 News the boil order could be in effect for days.

The north side of the city is considered north of the Grand River that runs though the middle of Grand Ledge.


If you’re going to use it for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing your teeth, or preparing food.


Bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute. Let it cool before using it.


While this is a precautionary measure, be on the lookout for diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches
Babies, the elderly, and anyone with a compromised immune system should be particularly careful
If anyone has these symptoms and they persist, call or see your doctor.
