LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A state panel that oversees the safety of pipelines carrying oil and other substances through and around Michigan is meeting Monday.
The Michigan Pipeline Safety Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Michigan Agency for Energy building in Lansing.
The agenda for the meeting includes procedural topics, an address from the Coast Guard, as well as an independent risk and alternatives analysis.
The board is co-chaired by Executive Director Valerie Brader of the Michigan Agency for Energy and Heidi Grether, director of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
It also advises state agencies on matters related to pipeline routing, construction, operation, and maintenance.
