Polls: Spartans hold on to #8 spot

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – The Spartan football team came off an uninspired win over a small college and a bye week to take on one of the legendary football teams in America Saturday night.

When the Spartans finished with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish they added a 36-28 win to their record.

That win was enough to land Michigan State in the 8th ranked spot in both the Amway Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Poll.

The Spartans will be home this weekend against the unbeaten Wisconsin Badgers.

The Michigan Wolverines were able to pull themselves together to down a pesky University of Colorado team. UM hosts Penn State Saturday.

This week Michigan is ranked 5th in the Amway Coaches Poll and 4th in the Associated Press Poll.

Alabama is the top-ranked team in the country.
