Veterans of all stripes checked in at Lansing Community College today, but they weren’t looking for an education.
They were looking for work.
And the veterans who went to LCC’s West Campus found some 30 companies who are looking to hire.
Among the 46 organizations looking for a few good men and women: the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Corrections, General Motors, and Dart Container.
Some 75 veterans took advantage of the opportunity.
Officials at LCC say they’re happy to help people who have served their country.
“They sacrificed a lot so I think it’s up to us to provide another service that would help them out in the future,” said Andrew Cosgrove, the director of the school’s veterans office. “Whether its seeking employment or going back to school, getting set up with a veterans organization that can help them with some issues they maybe experiencing.”
