DELHI TWP., Mich – It all began in August when deputies at the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Delhi Division noticed a young man’s shoes.
Tuesday Adrian Williams got a new pair of shoes and a lot more.
In August Delhi deputies noticed Williams, who lives in Delhi Township, was wearing shoes that were in pretty bad shape. The soles of his shoes were separating and falling apart.
Williams is challenged by a physical disability and needed specialized orthopedic shoes.
When deputies asked Williams if he needed new shoes he told them he did.
That’s when deputies took action.
They put together a “care package” from the ICSO “Give A Kid” program that included new shoes, winter boots, socks, shirts, pants, a winter coat, winter hats and gloves.
But that wasn’t all.
Deputies explained their efforts to the manager of Advanced Medical Solutions.
That led to an offer to donate a fitted pair of specialized shoes for Williams.
Tuesday Williams was given his care package and deputies took him over to Advanced Medical Solutions for his new shoes.
