Polls: MSU and UM stay in top 15

(WLNS) – Even though the Michigan State Spartans were idle this past Saturday they hung on to their eighth ranking in the Amway Coaches Poll this week.

The Spartans will travel to South Bend Saturday night to take on the number 18 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The University of Michigan Wolverines, who trounced overmatched Central Florida 51-14 in Ann Arbor, climbed to number five in that poll.

That fifth spot is up one position from the previous week for the Wolverines.

In the Associated Press poll the Spartans remain in the 12th position and the Wolverines climb one spot to fourth.

Alabama is top-rated team in the country in the Amway Coaches Poll and the Associated Press rankings for the second consecutive week.
