UPDATE: DeWitt man dies in morning motorcycle-vehicle collision; identity released

UPDATE: The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man killed in an early-morning motorcycle crash Wednesday.

According to investigators 56-year-old Scott Wohlfert of DeWitt was driving a motorcycle northbound on Airport Road near Jason Road just after 6:00 a.m.

A southbound vehicle, driven by 26-year-old James Dietz Jr of DeWitt, turned left into the motorcycle path.

Wohlfert was taken to Sparrow Hospital where he died of his injuries.

CLINTON CO., Mich (WLNS) – One man has died as a result of injuries he received in an early-morning motorcycle crash.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office tells 6 News that just after 6:00 a.m. a vehicle traveling south on Airport Road turned left onto Jason Road in Olive Township, directly into the path of a motorcycle driving north.

The 56-year-old DeWitt man riding the motorcycle was taken to Sparrow Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old Eagle resident, was not injured.

An investigation continues and names are being withheld until families are notified.
