EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – It’s to no surprise that stores like the Student Book Store are booming in sales today with MSU’s season opener tonight.
Earlier this afternoon MSU fans were grabbing t-shirts, hats, jerseys, you name it and they most likely were grabbing it off the shelves.
It’s been about one week since students poured into East Lansing and Student Book Store manager Brad Ballein says he’s seen a massive jump in sales.
Just today he says at least three to four thousand people have gone in and out of the book store with green and white tees and even sweatshirts for tonight’s game.
And in his opinion the nice weather has something to do with it.
“It’s a huge influx of the kids, I mean you got 50,000 students here and for the game you’re gonna have 80,000 people there at the stadium so it’s been a huge influx of people in the town, in Michigan, East Lansing,” said Ballien. “It’s great for town, it’s great for Michigan State and it’s great for the Student Book Store.”
