Vandals hit Delta Township neighborhood

DELTA TWP, Mich (WLNS) – The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of vandalism in Delta Township overnight.

Investigators tell 6 News that up to 15 houses, driveways, cars and mailboxes were hit in the Ashford Manor subdivision in the St. Joe and Upton area, west of I-96 but east of Nixon Road.

Racial hate messages and symbols were spray-painted on the vehicles and buildings.

There are also reports of mailboxes being damaged.

Deputies have recovered spray paint cans and are looking for home security camera footage from the neighborhood.

Because of the nature of the messages the vandalism is being investigated as a felony hate crime.

If you noticed any suspicious activity in the area last night you are asked to contact Deputy John Davidson at 517-816-8209.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
