Mother of buried baby back in court

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – The mother of a baby found buried in a Jackson County backyard was back in court today.

22-year-old Brittani Hill’s preliminary exam is being delayed several weeks after her defense argued there is more evidence to be considered.

Hill’s defense also claims the child was in someone else’s care at the time of death.

Hill is charged with concealing the death of an individual and removing a dead body without medical examiner permission.

Hill’s boyfriend, 24-year-old Timothy Young, was not in court today.

In July the two were arrested in Dayton, Ohio.

She once lived there with the boy’s father, the two are Dayton natives.

Young and Hill told police they had moved from Dayton to Michigan and while they were in Michigan, they claim the baby choked and died, according to Dayton police, who was informed of the tip from an anonymous source.

There is still no cause of death for the baby.

Hill’s bond was lowered today from $500,000 to $100,000.
