East Lansing hosts “Walk and Roll Safety Day”

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – If your kids aren’t back to school yet they will be soon.

And officials in East Lansing are working to make sure students return to class safely.

With the help of a $5000 grant the district hosted its “Walk and Roll Safety Day”.

It’s designed to encourage more students to walk or ride their bikes to school.

Today students had the chance to learn about bike and walking safety by taking part in obstacle courses and other fun family activities.

There were also helmet fittings and information about bus safety.

It’s all designed with student’s overall health in mind.
