LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Officials at Potter Park Zoo are welcoming the birth of two red panda cubs.

And they are pretty cute!

Their parents, Maliha and Rupert Junior, recently moved into a new and expanded exhibit giving them lots of room for the new family members.

Zoo officials say they’re excited about the new arrivals. “Even with the nervousness I was very much a proud mom,” said Potter Park zookeeper Liz Jagenow. “All of us are very proud first time moms. Maliha is a first time mom, too. So we were very nervous on how she would do but she has been fantastic. She’s been taking care of those cubs like nobody’s business.”

Red pandas are classified as endangered.
