Waverly High student donates long hair to help kids

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – 16-year-old Zoe Brazee knew she wanted a haircut.

She’d been growing her hair since 7th grade and now the junior-to-be at Waverly High School was ready to cut her long hair.

But Zoe wanted to do something special with this haircut.

So Zoe and her mother contacted the Mathew Ryan Salon and Spa in Lansing’s Old Town and arranged to have her locks donated to the Wigs For Kids organization.

The stylists cut 2-and-a-half feet of hair and Zoe said she felt “different” when she left the salon.

When asked why she would donate her hair her reply was simple. “Because it’s a lot of hair and I want to help another little girl.”
