Livingston County: Bicyclist fatally struck by SUV near his home

OCEOLA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) – Authorities say a 39-year-old man has died after being struck by an SUV about 100 yards from his home in Livingston County.

According to a news release Sheriff Bob Bezotte says that Kevin Unverzagt was riding a bicycle around 11:20 p.m. on Monday in Oceola Township when he was hit from behind.

Bezotte said Unverzagt died at the scene.

According to Bezotte, there were limited reflectors and lighting on the bicycle.

The driver of the SUV, a 61-year-old Linden man, wasn’t injured. The crash is under investigation.
