LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Former MSU basketball player and Chicago Bulls rookie Denzel Valentine teamed up with Dick’s Sporting Goods to help some local kids on a shopping spree.
The 10 kids are part of a group of basketball players who are participating in the Denzel Valentine Pro-Camp presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Each child got a $100 shopping spree from Dick’s with Denzel serving as their personal shopping consultant to buy basketball items and other sporting goods.
“I was going to be back here anyways, just might as well give back to the community, spend some time with the kids,” said Valentine. “This is a great opportunity for me to get to know them and for them to get to know me.”
The children were chosen by “Tickets for Kids” a group that gives out tickets for cultural and sporting events to in-need and at-risk kids.
