UPDATE 1:35 p.m. – A Dayton police source tells our sister station WDTN that the parents had lived in Dayton but moved to Michigan. While in Michigan they told police the baby choked and they buried the 9-month-old boy in their backyard.
JACKSON CO., Mich (WLNS) – It began with a call Friday night from detectives in Dayton Ohio and ended with the discovery of a child’s body in a shallow grave in Jackson County.
According to Jackson County Sheriff’s Office the Dayton Police detectives had been in contact with the deceased child’s parents. As a result of that detectives were able to provide information as to the location of the child’s body.
Deputies went to the 12000 block of Tophith Road in Waterloo Township and early Saturday morning found the body of an infant in a shallow grave.
The parents are currently being held in Dayton on charges relating to the crime.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarynzka has begun the process of extraditing them to Michigan on charges of concealing a death and removing a body without medical examiner approval.
