Couple in custody in connection with burying dead baby in backyard

(WLNS) – One couple is in custody in Ohio, after admitting to Dayton, OH police that they had buried their baby in the backyard of a Jackson County home they lived in for the past year.

Timothy Young and Brittany Hill buried the infant’s body behind a house on the 12000 block of Tophith Road, in a shallow grave.

“I didn’t know his name, he was just really a discreet person,” Neighbor who lived across from couple Mitchell Tenney said.

Last month, a couple who had lived in a Jackson County home for a year left to return to Ohio where they were from, but also left behind a male baby, a tragedy that left neighbors in disgust.

“It was very shocking to think that happened so close to home and how shocking it was,” Tenney said.

“So we’re trying to locate those vital records through various agencies in the state of Ohio and the most important thing is we’re trying to determine a cause of death,” Jackson County Undersheriff Chris Kuhl said.

According to Dayton police, they believe the infant was around 9 months old and buried earlier this year.

“Its a sad case because it involves the death of a human being, in this case the death of a baby, so its very tragic, its very tragic, its very sad, and as the case goes on, as the investigation continues, I’m sure more facts will be revealed,” Jackson County prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka said.

The parents are expected to be in Jackson County after being extradited within the next 30 days.
