Mike Sadler, former MSU punter, dies in auto crash

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler died in a car accident Saturday night in Wisconsin.

He was 24.

According to our media partners at MLive, Nebraska punter Sam Foltz also died in the crash, according to the Lincoln Journal-Star, which took place during a weekend punting camp.

Sadler, a Grand Rapids native who attended Forest Hills Northern, was a four-year starter for Michigan State, and graduated in 2014.

He ranks second in school history in both punts (268) and punting yards (11,307).

He was also a four-time Academic All-American.

After completing his master’s degree in the spring of 2015, Sadler planned to attend Stanford Law School this fall.
